Nothing! When you submit a bus to us to list for sale, we add our costs on top of your asking price. When the bus sells, you keep your full asking price and we keep the excess. This means you can sell your bus for free!
It’s easy! Just click on “Sell A Bus” in our top menu. You’ll be taken to a form you can fill out, where you’ll provide detailed information about your bus, so we can create an equally detailed listing. There are some guidelines above the form; please be sure to read them. Please note that in order to streamline the listing process and ensure we have all necessary details, we cannot accept buses submitted directly to us by email or phone. If you do email or call us with a bus for sale, we will direct you to the form.
We absolutely buy used buses when we feel they are something we are interested in having here on our lot in Pedricktown, New Jersey. SmartSearch is BusesForSale.com’s intelligent search engine. It is available in the heading banner at the top of every page. If you are using Google Chrome, you can also take advantage of it by starting to type BusesForSale.com into your address bar, and then pressing tab (you should see a prompt appear at the end of your address bar telling you to do so). You can type something like “mid size wheelchair bus” and SmartSearch will figure out what you’re looking for and automatically fill out the search panel!
SmartSearch is pretty good at figuring out what you are looking for, but you can help it work better for you by following these guidelines: Keep your searches short and sweet. SmartSearch has to try to figure out what part of your search is a year, what is a make etc. The more words you use, the more chances it has to get something wrong. Example of a bad search: “a big yellow bus from the year 2009 with about 70 or so seats” Example of a good search: “2009 70 passenger school bus” By default, SmartSearch will set the year range to 2 years earlier and later than what you specified. You can specify a specific year range by separating the years with a hyphen, like “2001-2007 international bus”. Sometimes you want to search for something we don’t have a specific search field for, like a 4×4 bus. This is what the “additional keywords” search field is intended to help you do. When using SmartSearch, anything you type after “with” will be searched as a keyword if it can’t be recognized as anything else. SmartSearch will also use your terms as keywords if it can’t understand them any other way. So if you’re looking for a four wheel drive school bus, you could try searching “school bus with 4×4.”
Any words you type in the Additional Keywords search field will be searched in the descriptions of the bus. It’s a useful way of finding things that aren’t covered in the usual search fields. For a bus to be shown, at least one of the keywords must match. See below for information on how to add keywords when using SmartSearch.
Our featured buses are usually available on our bus lot in Pedricktown, New Jersey, although we sometimes feature buses that we think are especially fantastic which may not be on our lot. To limit your search to these, check the “Featured Only” box at the bottom of the search panel. Here is a search of all our featured buses.
On most pages on the site, you will find a red tab on the left side of your screen which says “Search.” Click, tap or swipe this tab to open the search panel at any time. If you are on a search results page, you will find that the panel is already filled in with your current search! On an individual bus listing page, this panel will be pre-filled with criteria similar to the bus you’re looking at.

Just let us know which bus you’d like to see and we will make the arrangements for you to do so. Just remember that, since we provided the service that allowed you to find this bus, you are dealing with us if you want to buy it, and you cannot purchase directly from the owner.

Our buses are priced competitively with market value and are generally firm. We are willing to consider reasonable offers once you have visited the bus in person and are ready to move forward.
Listings with zero mileage mean either the mileage is unknown, which is often the case with older buses, or that it is a listing for more than one bus, in which case the mileage of each bus should be indicated in the Overview section of the description.
In general, a bus that carries more than 15 passengers including the driver,or that weighs more than 26,000 pounds, will require a CDL. You can reach this page from the top menu on any page by clicking “Do I Need A CDL?”
Featured buses always appear at the top of search results, and usually indicatethat the bus is available on our bus lot in Pedricktown, New Jersey. However, if we get a particularly fantastic bus, we sometimes feature it even if it is a brokered vehicle not physically present on our lot.
